I work hybrid, three days in the office, and there’s a stretch of sidewalk behind the parking garage that nobody uses except me and, occasionally, someone on a phone call they don’t want overheard. That’s where I go around 12:40, most days, for about six minutes.
It’s not dramatic. I’m not stoned at my desk making questionable decisions in Slack. It’s more that the second half of my day goes better if I take a real break instead of eating a sad desk salad while still half-answering emails. A few hits off a THCA cart, six minutes of just standing there, and I come back actually able to focus instead of running on fumes until 5pm.
I was nervous about this at first, mostly because I didn’t want to smell like anything walking back into a meeting. That part turned out to be a non-issue — no lighter, no smoke, nothing that lingers on a blazer the way flower does. I keep one in my bag and nobody’s ever said a word, which either means it’s genuinely subtle or my coworkers are extremely polite. Possibly both.
The honest reason I started doing this wasn’t recreational, it was migraines. I get them maybe twice a month, usually triggered by staring at a screen for six hours straight, and a short break with a low dose helps more than another coffee ever did. I’ve tried a few different THCA carts for this specifically and landed on a sativa-leaning one, since anything too heavy makes me want to nap at my desk instead of finish the afternoon.
I’ve gotten a little more deliberate about it since that first nervous week. I keep gum in my bag for after, more out of habit than necessity, and I never do it right before a meeting where I’d be talking a lot up close to people. Small things, but they add up to nobody ever clocking it. My manager knows I take a walk most afternoons and has never asked more than that, which is exactly how I’d like to keep it.
I’m not saying everyone should be microdosing behind a parking garage. But if you’re hitting that 1pm wall every single day and coffee stopped working months ago, it’s worth trying something different for six minutes instead of pushing through it again. This THCA cartridge is the one currently living in my bag, for what it’s worth.
